Definition : Offshore

Definition: Offshore wind is the wind that blows inland towards the sea. It will therefore hug and sculpt the shape of the waves, making this wind the best for surfing and wave structure. Ideally, a light to moderate offshore wind is ideal for structuring the wave without causing too much damage.

It's the ideal wind for manoeuvring waves and tubes.

For aerialsthat's another story. It's better to have a wind onshore(from the sea) or onshore/sideshore(coming from the sea but slightly sideways) so that the board sticks more easily to the feet when airborne.

Born in the hustle and bustle of Paris, Samuel Rosemain first explored the city on his skateboard. His life changed at the age of 13, when he moved to Martinique.

Between the waves of La Caravelle in Tartane and the hidden spots of Sainte-Marie, he discovered his new passion: surfing.

After five years at sea, Samuel turned to marketing while staying close to the ocean. He created Surf Tribe, a website merging his career and his passion for surfing, offering a platform for knowledge and sharing about the sport and its culture.

Because surfing is above all a tribe!
