Definition: Unlike a longboardA shortboard is a relatively short, thin board (under 7 feet) designed for fast, radical maneuvers and committed surfing. It's preferred by advanced surfers and young "groms" for its responsiveness and maneuverability.

These boards have less buoyancy and stability. This will make paddling more difficult in small, soft waves and reduce balance.

In deeper, faster waves, the small size allows for greater speed and responsiveness in the water, making it easier to place and control the boat. take-off faster.

These boards are usually tapered at the front and rear, for better water penetration and maneuverability.

However, there are many variations in construction (PU, epoxy, etc.) and shape(round tail, pin tail, squash tail, diamond tail, round pinetc.), to suit different types of waves and surfers.
