Definition : Sandbank

Definition: A sandbar is a sand bed that defines the shape and structure of the wave, depending on the swell and direction. It is therefore an essential element of beach break(sand waves) as this is the main parameter that will define the wave.

Sandbanks are unique in that they change with the seasons and storms. Waves of sand and spotlights therefore tend to change, making it necessary to look for the "right sandbar" as opposed to the "wrong sandbar". reef break that don't move.
