Definition : Bat tail

Dernière mise à jour le 19 December 2023

Definition: The bat tail is a form of tail which recalls the curves and tips of a bat's wings.

The particularity of this tail is its width, which allows more speed in smaller waves, and also the multiplicity of attachment points, which provides better grip and stability, as well as more radicality in lower-quality waves.

The multiplicity of tips, however, increases the creation of friction in the water, which slightly reduces speed and creates vortexes in the trail behind the board.

The solution of channels underneath the board, as with Tomo's Sci-Fi or Cymatic, reduces this effect.
